Florida's Brainless Democrats
If only Florida Democrats manifested such wisdom over a year ago
"My sense," he said, "is that by the time November rolls around people will realize the stakes are much higher" than "who gets a few hotel rooms."
Yet, not before someone smacks all of the Dems the way Kirk Wagar needs it.
The fight focuses on how a small portion of delegates will be selected to attend the party's national convention in August.
The Barack Obama campaign would like to replace about a half-dozen people who'd already been selected by the party with Obama loyalists. But Jon Ausman, an outspoken Florida member of the Democratic National Committee, said doing so would hurt party unity and its effort to rally around Obama.
The argument turned ugly late Thursday when Ausman released excerpts from a series of e-mails he exchanged with Kirk Wagar, a Miami lawyer and Obama's finance chairman in Florida.
In those e-mails, Wagar criticizes Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson and rips into Ausman, dropping a handful of obscenities along the way.
"You [expletive] us," Wagar wrote to Ausman on June 6. "We are dealing with it. You need to accept the fact that you [expletive] us."
How about a nice room at Gitmo, and call it even?
