Nothing like women and rocket launchers! I'm surely impressed how the Chinese and North Koreans can manipulate men, women, and kids into phalanxes of dancers and goose-stepping robots.



Like any figurehead, Kim Jong-il is a cipher: Dear Leader, and lunatic mastermind. But, Kim didn't show up (because of a "health setback" - the beating s the English language takes!) as his own beloved ally, the Korean People's Army, marched through Pyongyang's boulevards. And, DPRK didn't crack up! It's revealing that the ruling party still thumps its chest about standing up to Japan, and that the North Korean ambassador to Japan delivered a rebuke against Japanese reports of Kim's demise, calling reports a western "conspiracy". And, worst of all, there's those conservatives salivating over the prospect of Kim's corpse on a platter (ironically, there's saner thoughts in the comments section), never stopping to consider how uncertain would be the ramifications of the figurehead's demise for national and regional stability. Bad order is still order, and liberty depends on the right kind of it, not the lack of it. It's just irresponsible to place bets on the US elections. And, no one north or south of the 38th Parallel acknowledges September 6, 1945. That was the day the Korean People's Republic was founded. Instead, we have colluding North Koreans and ravenous American conservatives, and no Korea in sight.
