  • Bal(t)imoron: @Bill: The average layperson is fully aware of the incentives for getting a mortgage. Instead of piling on another incentivizing regulation, this is a one-shot, short-term remedy that would replace the previously failed regulation scheme.
  • Bill: 5/3 year term mortgages have been available for decades. Why another government regulation ? I rather include mortages, mortgage calculation etc. included in a compulsory course in primary and junior high when they start to learn percentages.

  • Tobias: Taleb criticized? Critiqued, maybe, but they definitely seem strongly sympathetic to Nassim Nicholas Taleb's way of thinking. His Edge essay provides an excellent introduction to his thinking, but his books are essential.
